SUMMARY:AzNHA Education Speaker Series (Nov 2024)
DESCRIPTION:Medical Marijuana – A Whole Different World Now\nFeaturing: Randi Sobel\,  WeedWorks\nAre you and your staff starting to engage with patients who are currently using cannabis or are interested in either learning about it\, or trying it? Research shows that medical cannabis can be effective for conditions like Alzheimer’s\, dementia\, insomnia\, cancer\, arthritis\, pain and many other conditions It may surprise you to know cannabis can be very successfully be utilized in end-of-life care instead of narcotics? \nWeedWorks Consulting offers education and training to empower your staff to better support patients who are using cannabis or considering cannabis as a viable alternative to traditional medications\, adding a valuable resource for your staff\, patients and their families. \nAbout the Speaker\nI’ve dedicated my career to helping others\, starting with teaching disabled adults to live independently and later moving into sales and marketing for home healthcare for seniors. After taking time off to raise my three kids and volunteer in my community\, I discovered a passion for educating seniors about medical cannabis. This passion grew during my mother’s battle with chronic nerve pain from MS and her struggles with opioid over medication. I guided her off opioids and onto medical cannabis\, significantly reducing her pain and eliminating emergency room visits. \nI recognized that many seniors face challenges in navigating medical cannabis\, often feeling overwhelmed in dispensaries without adequate support. It became clear that patients need advocates to create care plans\, explain products and dosages\, and assist in safely transitioning to medical cannabis. I’ve spent the last nine years studying medical cannabis\, conducting research\, consulting experts\, and visiting dispensaries. I also completed a medical cannabis healthcare certification program from Green Flower\, facilitated by the University of Arizona. \n \nRSVP at least 48 hours prior to the start of the program to receive the access link.\nThis program will be held on Zoom.  You will need a device (computer\, tablet or phone) with speakers and a strong internet connection to participate.\nNot able to join us live? SUMMARY:AZNHA's February Education Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Presentation:        Insurance 101: Know your Exclusions \nSpeaker:      Dennis Powers\, AIC\, ARM\, CPCU\, SCLA\, Senior Commercial Lines Specialist with Inszone Insurance Services \nDuring this presentation\, you will learn how the insurance industry has been turned upside down and still is. There are less admitted insurance carriers than ever before and now more exclusions on policies than before because of Covid. Are you covered by your policy if your employee is alleged to have passed any sort of communicable disease on to a client? Does your policy combine general\, professional liability and abuse coverage under the same limit? If you lost everything if your office due to a fire and were displaced\, do you have enough coverage to replace everything and also cover rent at a new location? Let’s have a real discussion of claims that we have seen. \nTo receive the Zoom connect information\, you must RSVP to info@aznha.org no later than the Monday prior to the meeting.
