Eligibility
Applicants must be 18+ years or older and meet the following criteria:
An individual’s representative entity (company or organization) must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- be an AZNHA Certified Member for at least 12 months (prior to being appointed to the board); OR,
- have a minimum 2 years’ experience in home care and be a part of a home care organization following all of the AZNHA standards for certified membership; OR,
- be a respected member of the healthcare or senior care community generally with a minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience.
Term
Initial terms are for 2-years (unless appointed to fulfill a vacancy). After serving the initial 2-year term, directors are eligible for successive 1-year terms.
Board Composition
Per the Bylaws, the board shall be composed of a minimum of two-thirds Business Members (Agencies) and a maximum of one-third Associate Members/Non-Members.
Expectations
Meeting Attendance: The AZNHA Board meets monthly on the third Thursday of the month from 11:30AM – 1:00PM (Arizona). These meetings are held via video/teleconference. An in-person strategy session is held once or twice a year in conjunction with a scheduled board meeting. Directors that miss more than 2 consecutive meetings or 3 meetings within a 12-month period will be reviewed for removal.
Program Attendance: Directors are expected to participate in-person at the AZNHA Annual Conference held as a 1-day program (usually in the summer) and as many of the monthly education programs (held virtually) as possible.
Committee Leadership: Each Director is expected to serve as the Chair or Co-Chair of a Committee for the duration of their service on the board.
